Andy Lees is an investor and strategic business advisor for growing businesses. He was at Microsoft for 23 years working in the UK subsidiary for the first 10 years in a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles before moving to Microsoft’s headquarters in the USA in 2000. As the Corporate Vice President for North America Sales, Marketing and Services and Worldwide Field Marketing, he was responsible for growing all aspects of Microsoft’s North American business and setting worldwide go-to-market strategy, leading a team of over 6,000 people delivering over $10Bn in revenue.
In 2006, he moved to Microsoft’s product divisions to become the Senior Vice President responsible for defining product and business strategy where he successfully grew Microsoft’s server & tools business by 50%. In 2009, Andy become the President of the Windows Phone Division, reporting to the CEO, where he revamped the R&D team, redefined the technical and business strategy and doubled Microsoft’s mobile market share.
